Child Safety Standards
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Family Rosary lets a family pray the Rosary, the Stations of the Cross and novenas together,
led by recordings of their own voices. Family members share those recordings, novena
intentions and a family intentions board within a private family circle. These are Family
Rosary's standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They apply to
everything in Family Rosary: recordings, intentions, and the names and roles of family members
and families.
Who can use Family Rosary
You must be 13 or older to create an account; the sign-up screen asks you to confirm this.
We delete any account we learn belongs to someone younger. Teenagers aged 13 to 17 can have
accounts, and if they're under 18 a parent or guardian must agree to our
Terms of Service for them, so these standards also protect
the young people who use it.
A family can add a profile for a younger child who has no account, and record prayers in
that child's voice, only as the child's parent or legal guardian or with their permission. A
child's profile and recordings are visible only within that family circle, and a parent or
guardian can remove them at any time (in the app, or by emailing us).
How Family Rosary limits contact with strangers
- Everything is shared inside a private family circle. There are no public profiles, no
search for people or families, no chat and no direct messages.
- Nobody gets into a family without a manager's say-so. Someone with the family's code can
only ask to join, and a manager must approve the request before they can see anything in the
family. Managers can also invite people by email.
- Managers can remove members, profiles and recordings, delete intentions, and make a new
family code at any time; the old code stops working straight away.
- Recordings are meant to be prayers or devotional content, and our Terms of Service say
so.
If you're under 18: only join a family whose members you know in real life; never share
your family's code with anyone you don't know; and tell a parent, guardian or another adult
you trust if anything in Family Rosary makes you uncomfortable.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
Family Rosary prohibits any content or behavior that sexually abuses, exploits or endangers
children. That includes:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, recording or text that
depicts, describes or promotes the sexual abuse of a minor.
- Grooming: contacting or befriending a minor in order to sexually abuse or
exploit them, including trying to move them to another app or to meet them in person.
- Sextortion: threatening or blackmailing someone with intimate images of
a minor, or to get them.
- Trafficking: recruiting, advertising or arranging the exploitation of a
child, sexual or otherwise.
- Sexualizing minors in any way, including sexual comments about a
child.
Anyone who breaks these standards loses their account.
How to report
- By email, with or without the app or an account: write to
[email protected] with
"Child safety" in the subject. Tell us what you saw, the family's name and the member's name
if you know them, and roughly when. Please don't send us copies of abusive material.
- In the app: open My Account & Families and tap Report a
problem, under Privacy & Legal. Say that it's about a child's safety, and email
us too if you can, so we can reply to you.
- In your family: a family manager can remove the person or the recording
straight away, on the Family Circle tab.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services
first. You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to the National Center for
Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at
report.cybertip.org.
What we do
- We don't listen to or monitor families' recordings, so we rely on reports. We read every
report and act on it.
- We remove the content and close the accounts involved.
- We report child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and to other relevant authorities as
required by law, and cooperate with law enforcement as the law requires.
